Vrede Creative Retreat
We have finalised the dates for our Vrede Creative Retreat. The course will will start between 3 and 4 pm on Friday 13 March and end at about 3.30pm on Sunday 15 March. Our evening sessions and meals will be held at Ouhout. Accommodation will be at Ouhout, Blou Reen and other bed and breakfasts around town.
Established in 1863, Vrede was given its name after a dispute over the naming of the town was settled peacefully. Vrede is a small working agricultural town in the North-Eastern Free State, less than two hours from Johannesburg. It is the hub of a large agricultural region producing maize, wheat, mutton, wool, beef, dairy, products and poultry. It is a classic Free State town with the Dutch Reformed Church taking pride of place at the end of one of the wide streets still lined with original looking shops.
