We are offering our first intensive one-week creative writing course in Johannesburg in September.
Running from Monday, September 3 to Friday, September 7, the course guides participants through the full range of writing skills from generating the initial idea to ending the story with a bang.
“We’re responding to people who either are reluctant to come out at night for our usual evening fare, or who would like a concentrated injection of writing skills,” says Allaboutwriting’s Richard Beynon.
The course is liberally interspersed with writing exercises to help participants consolidate their new skills. Course facilitators are novelist Jo-Anne Richards and script-writer Richard Beynon.
Allaboutwriting’s usual spring 10-week creative writing course begins on August 22. It takes place every Wednesday from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
Both courses will be held at a venue in Craighall Park, Johannesburg.
“For aspiring writers who’re not ready to commit themselves to either of these two courses, we also hold a one-day introduction to creative writing,” says Beynon. “It’s our Power of Writing Course. We’re holding our next Power session on August 25 at AFDA in Auckland Park.”
