Join us for a glorious week of writing and exploring in Croatian Istria
We’re thrilled to be able to offer another retreat at Casa Famiglia in Rebici in the Istria countryside where you can spend one glorious week writing and exploring.
Istria will embed you in a history that stretches back thousands of years, but you’ll be taking up residence in a luxury villa with every mod con.
After the morning workshop, we’ll invite you to write, or book us for one-on-one sessions.
Alternating afternoons and evenings, though, we hope you’ll join us on a series of outings: a tasting of local Istrian wines with ‘rock star’ winemaker Bruno Trapan. To Pula, closest town to our villa, which boasts the most complete Roman amphitheatre in the world – and a very literary memorial commemorating James Joyce’s visit when dreams of Ulysses were swirling in his mind. To sample Istrian food at a family run restaurant, Da Rocco in nearby Krnica. Or to a fortified medieval hilltop village at Labin, or a local olive farm, or the gorgeous fishing port of Rovinj, celebrated for its seafood restaurants and cobbled streets.
When we’re not out and about there’s walking in the surrounding countryside, and swimming in the inlet or the heated swimming pool.
The schedule is designed to provide you with the skills, tools and inspiration every writer needs to craft a story.
