The Creative Writing Mentoring Programme
Tailored guidance to help you start, stay on track, and finish your book.
Our Mentoring Programme is designed to meet each writer’s specific needs by providing consistent encouragement, professional support, and substantial monthly feedback.
Whether you are writing fiction or creative non-fiction for the page or screen, we walk you through the entire process.
We don’t just give feedback; we “hold your hand” and walk the journey with you to help you start – and finish – your book, collection of short stories, or screenplay
How It Works
When you join, you are assigned a dedicated mentor – Jo-Anne Richards, Richard Beynon, or one of our specialist associates – to provide consistent, monthly support.
Each month includes two hours of your mentor’s time, which can be used for comprehensive written feedback or one-on-one brainstorming sessions to solve complex story problems
- Substantial Monthly Feedback: Submit up to 5,000 words per month (a total of 30,000 to 60,000 words over your term) for detailed written notes on your developing manuscript.
- One-on-One Brainstorming: Use your mentor’s monthly time for live Zoom sessions to solve complex story problems, develop characters, or map out your structure.
- Skill Development: To ensure you have the necessary tools, the programme includes access to our comprehensive ten-step creative writing course.
The Community Experience
- Monthly Group Zooms: Join sessions where you are entitled to individual time to discuss your feedback and plan next steps.
- Virtual Write-Ins: Participate in two-hour collaborative sessions to work alongside peers and discuss writing challenges in real-time.
- Private Platform: The programme is hosted on a private online mentoring group where you submit work, receive feedback and can communicate directly with your mentors and fellow mentees.
