Get writing again with a community of writers
Always dreamed of writing a novel, short story, memoir, or biography? Or maybe you’ve already got one in a drawer somewhere, and you can’t stop thinking about going back to it.
Writing can be hard but you don’t need to do it alone. Our flagship Creative Writing Course is running for one last time this year, both virtually and online. Over ten modules you’ll learn the skills and techniques you need for any creative writing project – whether you’re at the writing or editing stage.
Each module covers a different skill, from point of view to using detail and from story to structuring scenes, and ends with an assignment to help you cement the skill. Because the best way to learn writing is by writing. Plus, our experienced facilitators Jo-Anne Richards and Richard Beynon will give you personal feedback on each assignment, to encourage you and help you hone your craft.
The online course means working at your own speed through modules which are released to you over ten weeks – part 1 on Monday and part 2 on Wednesday. This gives you the flexibility of working through the modules, at the time that works best for you. Each module contains a smaller exercise as well as the assignment, and you’ll receive written feedback on both.
The modules contain interesting links and video clips and there are three live webinars during which you can ask questions or clarify points that might have confused you. You can sign up here.
If you work best according to a schedule, and crave a more human connection, upgrade to our virtual Creative Writing Course which runs over five weeks on Monday and Thursday evenings. This will allow you to learn in real-time and write in the company of your peers. You’ll have a tutor and a very small class, with whom you can engage and discuss points of interest. You’ll receive full notes for each module. You’ll receive personal feedback in every class. Enrol here.
The courses start on Monday, 12 October. Spaces are extremely limited for the virtual course.
We hope to see you there, and happy writing!
