Short Story Webinar replay and info about two free workshops
Our focus this month is the art of the short story and in particular the new call for submissions from Short.Sharp.Stories.
We held a fabulous short story webinar with Joanne Hichens who shared some great advice for writing short stories and discussed the Short.Sharp.Stories call for submissions for POWER due to be published in May 2025.
Here’s the webinar replay:
So how can you prepare to submit your story to POWER?

Join Joanne’s free Short Story Workshops
Short.Sharp.Stories and All About Writing invite you to attend 2 FREE Short.Sharp.Story workshops.
This will be an immersive WRITING experience specifically for writers wanting to submit to the Short.Sharp.Stories POWER anthology, but all short story writers are welcome.
You will have the opportunity to explore what POWER means to you and to find a way into writing on the theme.
The call for stories is to LIGHT THE DARK. We’ll encourage you to nurture a story from an initial spark, whether a candle flame, or the power of speech, the power of speed, the power of electricity, the power of creation, whatever power means to you – and to develop your ideas into a more complex short story.
The workshops will be held on Saturday 23 November from 14:00 to 16:00 SAST and on Saturday 30 November from 14:00 to 16:00 SAST
Each workshop will offer something new, so you are welcome to attend both.
This will be useful to seasoned writers as well as emerging and new writers.
