Our Venice Retreat – just one place available
What would our fourth annual Venice Writing Retreat give you?
That’s easy, if we quote one of our past participants, who called it “a life-changing experience”.
It will certainly provide inspiration. The venue itself is extraordinary – it gives you the opportunity to live for a week in an original seventeenth century palazzo where Byron once attended soirees (and, it’s rumoured, got up to no good with the Countess Albrizzi).
What on earth could feed the soul of a writer more than a week in September spent scribbling and thinking, while every walk nourishes you with art and dramatic architecture?
On a practical level, we provide writing support and individual mentoring, whether you have an existing writing project or simply want to expand your creativity. If you don’t have a writing project, we give you daily creative exercises, which you can choose to use or not. Besides the morning talks on aspects of writing by Richard, Fred or me and your daily one-on-one with one of us, your time is your own, to use as creatively as you please.
Oh, and did I mention that the food is fabulous? We provide two meals a day in the palazzo and the cook creates delicious Venetian meals, better than many restaurants.
But I’ll leave the last word to those who’ve been there with us in the past three years:
“The retreat was totally fabulous and it exceeded all my expectations,” said one. Another praised the “excellent creative sessions, feedback, encouragement, insight, caring…” The Palazzo Albrizzi experience, she added, was “simply astonishing. Magic is happening here.”
Well, we can’t help but agree with that. There is something about Venice, about the palazzo, and about the alchemy of a group of writers committed to their craft which turns these retreats into what yet another participant called “the experience of a lifetime.”
“Venice was,” yet another participant has said, “a billion times better than anything I could have imagined.”
There is just one place available, so if you’re keen, please contact us immediately. We’d love to have your company. We’ve attached further details – together with a booking form.
